Jen DiGiovanni Reviews THE WAY BACK TO YOU

WayBackToYouHCThe Way Back to You is so much more than the story of two friends taking a spontaneous road trip. It’s an emotional journey for Cloudy and Kyle, who are both struggling to get over the loss of someone they loved. The writing in this book is a perfect mixture of humor and poignancy. So many times I was laughing through my tears. I loved the dual POV, plus the supporting cast, especially Matty and Kyle’s dad. I can’t wait to read the authors’ next collaboration! ~Jennifer DiGiovanni, author of MY SENIOR YEAR OF AWESOME

Michelle Andreani and Mindi Scott: Authors of THE WAY BACK TO YOU

Our very lovely Michelle Andreani revealed her cover for THE WAY BACK TO YOU today over at Vilma’s Book Blog.

Michelle and her co-author, Mindi Scott, can’t wait for you to settle in with this story about a poignant and powerful road trip! You can also enter to win a $5 Amazon gift card and an ARC. There’s also an exclusive interview with Michelle and Mindi that you don’t want to miss!

Six months ago, Ashlyn Montiel died in a bike accident.

Her best friend CLOUDY is keeping it together, at least on the outside. Cloudy’s insides are a different story: tangled, confused, heartbroken.

KYLE is falling apart, and everyone can tell. Ashlyn was his girlfriend, and when she died, a part of him went with her. Maybe the only part he cared about.

As the two people who loved Ashlyn best, Cloudy and Kyle should be able to lean on each other. But after a terrible mistake last year, they’re barely speaking. So when Cloudy discovers that Ashlyn’s organs were donated after her death and the Montiel family has been in touch with three of the recipients, she does something a little bit crazy and a lot of out character: she steals the letters and convinces Kyle to go on a road trip with her, from Oregon to California to Arizona to Nevada. Maybe if they meet the recipients—the people whose lives were saved by Ashlyn’s death—the world will open up again. Or maybe it will be a huge mistake.

With hundreds of miles in front of them, a stowaway kitten, and a list of people who are alive because of Ashlyn, Cloudy and Kyle just may find their way back to her . . . and to each other.

Sixteen To Read authors Michelle Andreani and Jennifer Bardsley, and multi-book-YA author Mindi Scott met up at the American Girl store in Seattle for lunch this summer. Jennifer’s six-year-old daughter (not pictured) was also with them, and was placated by cupcake decorating when the conversation about the publishing industry became too much for a first grader to handle.

Jennifer was excited to hear about THE WAY BACK TO YOU which Michelle and Mindi co-wrote together. Mindi shared advice with Jennifer and Michelle about book launches, writing conferences, and more.
